Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

Never Late News (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://neverlatenews.com, a U.S. local and civic news site. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website and to messages you send us by email.

If you have questions, email contact@neverlatenews.com.

Who we are

Never Late News is an independent U.S. local and civic newsroom. Editorial coverage is led by news-desk editor Mike Joe. We cover local government, schools, housing, transit, elections, and related public-interest stories.

Information we collect

Information you send us. When you email tips, corrections, or questions, we receive whatever you include in that message (for example your name, email address, and documents or links you attach). Tip and correction practices are described on our Contact page.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and hosting tools may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URL, and approximate time of visit. We may use cookies or similar technologies for basic site function, security, and analytics.

Analytics and third-party tools. We may use standard analytics or performance tools (for example Google Analytics or Search Console–related measurement) to understand aggregate traffic and improve the site. Those providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising. If we display advertising or sponsorship in the future, those partners may set their own cookies. Sponsored content on Never Late News is labeled. Advertising does not buy news coverage (see our Editorial Policy).

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Operate, secure, and improve the website
  • Respond to tips, corrections, and reader questions
  • Understand which stories are useful to readers (in aggregate)
  • Comply with law and protect the rights and safety of readers, sources, and the newsroom

We do not use tip emails to build marketing lists, and we do not sell personal information.

Email, tips, and confidentiality

Email is not a confidential channel. Do not assume that identity or contents will stay private. If you have a safety concern, say so before sending sensitive details. Do not send passwords, financial account numbers, or highly sensitive private records unless we specifically request them. More tip guidance is on our Contact page.

Cookies and choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work as well if cookies are disabled. Where a third-party tool offers an opt-out, we encourage readers to use it.

Retention

We keep operational logs and email correspondence only as long as needed for journalism, site operation, legal compliance, or dispute resolution, then delete or de-identify them when practical.

Sharing

We may share information with service providers who help us host, secure, or measure the site, when required by law, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.

Children’s privacy

Never Late News is aimed at a general adult audience interested in civic news. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it when appropriate.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no website or email system is perfectly secure. Please use caution when sending sensitive material.

Your requests

To ask about personal information you have sent us, or to request correction or deletion where applicable, email contact@neverlatenews.com with enough detail for us to find the relevant message. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when we have a lawful reason to do so (for example a published correction record or ongoing legal obligation).

Links to other sites

Our articles often link to government sites, court records, and other publications. Their privacy practices are their own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you have had a chance to review the revised policy.
