John Mulaney Brings Mister Whatever Tour to Fort Worth Friday

FORT WORTH. John Mulaney brings the Mister Whatever tour to Will Rogers Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 9, with doors at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 7:30 p.m., according to the event listing on the Dickies Arena website. Fort Worth is the second of four shows in four nights for Mulaney in Louisiana and Texas, starting Thursday in Shreveport and ending Sunday afternoon in Galveston.

It lands on a crowded night in the Cultural District. Brooks & Dunn play Dickies Arena, next door to the Will Rogers Memorial Center, the same evening.

The Mister Whatever tour in Texas and nearby

Never Late News pulled every Texas and nearby date from the tour schedule on Mulaney’s official site. Times are local.

Friday is the only North Texas date among the shows the site lists through Nov. 21. For fans who miss it, the closest later stop is across the Red River at the Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant on Nov. 20, followed by Tulsa the next night.

A smaller room than his last DFW visit

This is not Mulaney’s first pass through the area on this tour. When the Mister Whatever tour was announced in April 2025, it included a Nov. 7, 2025, show at Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie, his first Texas dates since his 2022 tour, CultureMap Dallas reported. A second Grand Prairie night, Nov. 6, appeared on the schedule by that October, according to Consequence.

Friday’s room is less than half that size. Texas Trust CU Theatre lists 6,350 indoor seats on its venue page, while Will Rogers Auditorium is an Art Deco theater with 2,856 seats inside the city-owned Will Rogers Memorial Center, which was built in 1936 and sits in the Cultural District less than three miles from downtown, according to the City of Fort Worth.

What the tour has looked like so far

The tour’s headline moment came in his hometown. On July 11, Mulaney became the first comedian to headline Chicago’s Wrigley Field, drawing more than 40,000 fans, SPIN reported. That show had guests including Buddy Guy, Fred Armisen, Richard Kind and David Letterman, and Mulaney’s set centered on life with his wife, Olivia Munn, and their two children. Those guests were part of the Wrigley event. The Fort Worth listing names no special guests and bills the night as a stand-up show.

Mulaney, an Emmy-winning former “Saturday Night Live” writer who has hosted the show six times, is also busy off the road. He most recently hosted the Netflix talk show “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney,” the arena’s event page notes, and he is in the cast of “Madden,” David O. Russell’s film about John Madden, which streams worldwide on Prime Video on Nov. 18, Deadline reported. In January, he plays nine New York City venues in nine nights, from the Comedy Cellar on Jan. 7 to Madison Square Garden on Jan. 15, 2027, the New York Post reported.

Friday night in the Cultural District

Two crowds will be headed for neighboring buildings at about the same time. Never Late News lined up the posted times:

Dickies Arena’s lots open three and a half hours before its show, or 3:30 p.m. Friday, and parking prices there depend on the event, the arena says. Ticketmaster’s page for Will Rogers Auditorium lists surface lot and garage parking at $10 and says outside food and drinks and cameras are not allowed, and that children 2 and older need a ticket. Trinity Metro’s Route 2 bus also connects the Will Rogers Memorial Center with downtown, according to the city. Tickets for Mulaney are sold through Ticketmaster, and the listing shows prices as varying. Never Late News covered the Brooks & Dunn weekend in detail here.
