Kacey Musgraves Brings Middle of Nowhere Tour to AAC for Two Nights

DALLAS. Kacey Musgraves brings the Middle of Nowhere Tour to American Airlines Center for two nights this weekend, Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, after stops in Houston and Austin earlier in the week. Both Dallas shows start at 7:30 p.m., with doors at 6 p.m.

Texas singer-songwriter William Beckmann opens both shows. For Musgraves, who grew up in the East Texas town of Golden, about 70 miles from Dallas, it is a homecoming stop on a tour built around her most Texas-sounding record yet.

Saturday and Sunday at AAC: the basics

The American Airlines Center event listings show identical details for both nights: show at 7:30 p.m., doors at 6 p.m., William Beckmann as special guest. The arena’s camera policy allows point-and-shoot cameras only, with no professional gear, no detachable lenses, and no selfie sticks, GoPros or iPads. That is the same rule AAC posted for last weekend’s Cash Money and No Limit Tour stop, so regular AAC concertgoers will know the drill.

Sunday was not on the original plan. Musgraves announced the tour on April 29 with a single Dallas date, Oct. 10, and added Oct. 11 in early May, ahead of the May 8 general on-sale, according to CultureMap Dallas. In a Sept. 29 concert roundup, The Dallas Morning News listed tickets starting at $50.05 through Ticketmaster; prices on resale and primary markets can move, so check before you buy.

The Texas leg of the Middle of Nowhere Tour

Dallas is the third of the three Texas cities CultureMap listed when the tour was announced. The tour opened Aug. 21 in Chicago, Musgraves’ 38th birthday, and wraps with two nights in Seattle on Oct. 26 and 27. Never Late News pulled the Texas dates and times from each venue’s own event page:

The one local difference: AAC opens doors a half hour earlier than Houston and Austin, which gives Dallas fans a longer window for merch lines and the Yuengling Flight Club dining option the arena lists for both nights.

Saturday shares the city with Texas-OU and the State Fair

Saturday’s show lands on one of the busiest days on the Dallas sports calendar. Texas and Oklahoma meet in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park at 2:30 p.m. CT on Oct. 10, and the University of Texas game center lists the game as sold out. The State Fair of Texas is also open that day; it runs through Sunday, Oct. 18, according to the fair.

Fair Park sits east of downtown and Victory Park on its northwest edge, so the two crowds are not headed to the same spot, but both are big draws on the same Saturday. Fans driving in from out of town may want to build in extra time. Sunday’s show avoids the Texas-OU crowd, though the fair is still open.

Getting there: DART, TRE and the Sunday catch

AAC’s public transportation guide says DART’s Green and Orange lines serve Victory Station seven days a week, and some Red and Blue line trains run straight to Victory before arena events. Fort Worth and Mid-Cities fans should note the Trinity Railway Express schedule. On Saturdays, the last TRE train from Union Station toward Fort Worth leaves at 11:35 p.m. The TRE has no scheduled Sunday service, so Sunday’s show will need another plan for anyone who usually rides it.

What the new album brings to the set

Middle of Nowhere, released May 1, draws on Texas dance halls and blends traditional country with norteño and zydeco influences, according to The Dallas Morning News. The title comes from a sign in her hometown: “Golden, Texas: Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere.” The eight-time Grammy winner’s catalog runs back through Golden Hour, which won album of the year, to her 2013 debut, Same Trailer Different Park. North Texas audiences have seen her lean into local ties before. On her 2024 Deeper Well World Tour stop, she played two Dallas shows and brought out Fort Worth’s Leon Bridges and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, the Dallas Observer reported.
